A CHRIST FOLLOWING COMMUNITY
There is no substitute for learning to walk by God’s Spirit, than to be in a healthy Bible teaching church with others trying to do the same thing. It is most encouraging. The Bible tells us so. “…where two or more are gathered in my name, there I am with them.” Matthew 18:20 This concept Jesus spoke of here is also reinforced throughout the Bible. A small intimate Bible Study offered by most churches is a great way to get more personalized understanding of personalized themes.
A CHURCH STATEMENT OF FAITH:
On their website, read the church’s “Statement of Faith” page. It may be entitled: “What We Believe”; “Beliefs”; or something similar. This gives an idea of where their beliefs line-up with the Bible. Here are three examples of sound Statements of Faith. Compare how they are worded differently. Perhaps one may focus on an attribute that another doesn’t. Yet each still holds true to the meta-narrative of God’s revealed plan for us:
